How to Fix Locked Short Drama Episodes After Paying or Subscribing

Paid but Episodes Are Locked? Short Drama Fixes

Woman troubleshooting locked episodes after payment

An episode remaining locked after payment does not always mean the charge failed. The purchase may be linked to another account, the plan may provide coins rather than full access, or the app may not have refreshed the entitlement.

Do not buy the same product again immediately. First identify what was purchased and which account received it.

Check the receipt

Open the receipt from Google Play, Apple, the developer or payment provider. Confirm:

  • app or merchant name;
  • product name;
  • purchase date and amount;
  • order or transaction number;
  • account that made the purchase;
  • whether the transaction is completed, pending or cancelled.

A bank authorisation is not always a completed store transaction. Pending payments may not grant access until processing finishes.

Identify what the product includes

Short drama products can be easy to confuse:

  • a coin pack;
  • a recurring coin allowance;
  • an ad-free benefit;
  • a VIP subscription;
  • access to selected titles;
  • one episode or episode bundle;
  • a free trial that begins later or has conditions.

Open the plan benefits and compare them with the receipt. “VIP” may not mean every series is unlocked. If the plan provides coins, check whether the balance was added and still needs to be spent on the episode.

Confirm the active app account

The purchase may be associated with a different login. Check whether you signed in using:

  • email and password;
  • Google;
  • Apple;
  • Facebook or another social service;
  • guest mode.

Two buttons using the same email address can still create separate accounts. Sign out only after recording the current user ID, balance and history.

If you used guest mode, contact support before clearing data or reinstalling because local account information may be lost.

Refresh the purchase safely

Try the least disruptive steps first:

  1. Close and reopen the episode list.
  2. Confirm a stable internet connection.
  3. Restart the app.
  4. Check for an app update.
  5. Open the account or membership page and refresh it.
  6. Use *Restore Purchases* when the app provides that control.

Restore Purchases is most useful for store-managed subscriptions and non-consumable access. Consumable coin packs may follow different rules.

Do not repeatedly tap Buy while the original transaction is pending.

Check device and platform differences

An Android purchase may not automatically appear on iPhone unless the developer syncs access through its own account. Website and in-app plans can also be separate.

Use the same app version, account and platform that made the purchase for the first restoration attempt. Then read the official cross-device terms.

If a subscription appears active in Google Play or Apple but not in the app, capture both screens for support.

Check the series itself

Some plans exclude premium, newly released or region-specific titles. A series can also contain episodes that require a different access type.

Test another title listed as included. If that title works, the problem may concern the series rather than the account.

Record the exact series name, episode number and lock message. Similar titles can lead support to inspect the wrong item.

Avoid destructive troubleshooting too early

Clearing app data, deleting the app or resetting the phone can remove downloads and guest-account information without fixing billing.

Before reinstalling:

  • confirm the account can be recovered;
  • save the user ID;
  • record coin balances;
  • keep receipts;
  • verify downloads can be replaced;
  • use Restore Purchases first.

Uninstalling also does not cancel a subscription.

Contact official support with useful evidence

Provide:

  • account email or user ID;
  • sign-in method;
  • app version and device;
  • order number;
  • purchase date and product name;
  • series and episode;
  • screenshot of the active subscription or receipt;
  • steps already attempted.

Hide unrelated personal details. Never send a password, one-time code or full card number.

Use the support route linked from the official store listing or developer website. Avoid social accounts asking for payment to “restore” access.

What about refunds?

Restoring access and requesting a refund are separate paths. Refund eligibility depends on the store, developer terms, transaction status and applicable law.

If you request a refund, use the platform that processed the payment. Keep a clear timeline and do not claim the same issue through multiple routes with conflicting information.

Troubleshooting checklist

  • The receipt shows a completed purchase.
  • I understand exactly what the product includes.
  • I am signed into the correct app and store accounts.
  • I checked the coin or benefit balance.
  • I restarted and updated the app.
  • I used Restore Purchases if available.
  • I tested whether the issue affects one title or the whole account.
  • I kept evidence before reinstalling.
  • I contacted only official support.

Most locked-episode problems become clearer once the receipt, product type and account are matched. Verify those three facts before making a second payment or using destructive troubleshooting.
