Deleting a short drama app from your phone does not necessarily delete the account, personal data or subscription. These are separate actions controlled by different systems.
Use a careful order: confirm the account, cancel recurring billing, preserve necessary receipts and then use the developer’s official deletion process.
Understand the four different actions
- *Uninstalling the app* removes software and local files from the device.
- *Cancelling a subscription* stops future renewal through Google Play, Apple or the website.
- *Deleting the account* closes the profile used by the app.
- *Requesting data deletion* asks the developer to erase eligible personal information under its policy and applicable law.
Completing one does not guarantee the others happened.
Identify the correct account
Before deletion, record:
- email address or username;
- Google, Apple or social login used;
- app name and developer;
- subscription platform;
- current coin balance or purchased access;
- order numbers and receipts;
- devices connected to the account.
Do not include passwords in the record. If you use Sign in with Apple and Hide My Email, the app may display a relay address rather than your usual email.
Cancel recurring billing first
Check Google Play subscriptions, Apple subscriptions and the official website billing page. Cancel any active plan and save the displayed expiry date.
Deleting the account before cancelling can make it harder to access billing details while the external subscription continues. Google Play notes that uninstalling an app does not cancel its subscription.
If no subscription appears, check other accounts and receipts before assuming billing has stopped.
Preserve what you may need
Account deletion can remove viewing history, favourites, downloads, support conversations, bonus balances and paid coins. Refunds are not automatically created by deletion.
Save only the necessary evidence:
- payment receipts;
- cancellation confirmation;
- unresolved support ticket numbers;
- screenshots of remaining benefits when relevant;
- the deletion request and response.
Do not download or redistribute copyrighted episodes as part of the backup.
Find the in-app deletion control
Look under Profile, Account, Privacy, Security, Settings or Help for options such as:
- Delete Account;
- Close Account;
- Account Cancellation;
- Privacy Request;
- Delete Personal Data.
Read the warning before confirming. The app should explain whether deletion is immediate, delayed or reversible during a short grace period.
If the option is missing, consult the official privacy policy and support centre linked from the verified app-store listing.
Send a clear data-deletion request
When email or a privacy form is required, provide only enough information to identify the account:
- account email or user ID;
- sign-in method;
- country or region if required for legal routing;
- direct request to delete the account and eligible personal data;
- request for written confirmation.
Do not send a password, one-time code or full payment-card number. A legitimate support team may need to verify account control, but the method should be explained through an official channel.
What data might be retained?
Privacy policies often allow limited retention for legal obligations, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, security or financial records. Deletion therefore may not mean every record disappears instantly.
The developer should describe categories and retention logic in its policy. Avoid promising a universal deadline because rights and procedures vary by country and service.
Revoke connected login access
After the account is closed, review connected apps in your Google, Apple or social account settings. Remove access that is no longer needed.
Revoking login access alone does not delete the app account or cancel billing. It is a final security step after the service-side process is complete.
Remove local data and the app
Once billing and deletion are confirmed:
- remove downloaded episodes through the app when possible;
- sign out;
- uninstall the app;
- review device storage if large files remain;
- remove notification permissions;
- delete saved login entries only if you no longer need them.
On shared devices, confirm that another person’s account is not affected.
If the developer does not respond
Check the response time stated in the privacy policy and verify that the request went to the official address. Keep a dated copy.
Depending on your region, an app store, privacy regulator or consumer-protection authority may provide further guidance. Use official government or platform pages rather than a social-media account claiming to recover data for a fee.
Final deletion checklist
- I identified the correct account and sign-in method.
- I cancelled recurring billing separately.
- I saved necessary receipts and confirmations.
- I used the official in-app control or privacy channel.
- I requested written confirmation.
- I reviewed connected login access.
- I removed local downloads and the app only after confirmation.
The safest deletion process separates billing, account closure and privacy rights. Follow each system to completion and keep evidence rather than assuming that removing the icon from a phone ended the relationship.
